Wall-E is my favorite Disney character. I also wanted a piece for my rigging reel that showed advanced techniques such as treads and transforming. I couldn’t find any free models either so while I don’t consider myself a 3d modeler, I also built and textured the model.

The entire rig can unfold from box mode automatically. The treads can move on their own and change shape. The arms have a cool feature where depending where they are on the arm slider, they move properly with the top/bottom of the body that can open.
